Mounir Tawadrous, AIA, LEED AP Elevated to Principal
KSS is proud to announce that Mounir Tawadrous, AIA, LEED AP, has been elevated to Principal. A member of the firm for 14 years, Mounir has led some of the largest and most complex projects in KSS’ history, from multistory industrial and distribution facilities in New York City to the redevelopment of Belmont Park Village on Long Island and new school campuses in New Jersey.
Mounir’s promotion recognizes his exemplary leadership, talent for navigating multifaceted challenges, and the genuine care he brings to clients and project teams alike. A longtime advocate of data-driven design, he has pushed the firm to embrace evidence-based tools such as Sefaira and ElumTools, an approach that now informs how KSS pursues performance and design quality across its work.
Mounir's work includes some of the most ambitious projects this firm has ever taken on, and his leadership and vision in championing data-driven design has permeated so much of what we do.

Mounir joined KSS in 2012 as a Project Architect and was elevated to Associate in 2017 and Senior Associate in 2020. His portfolio spans industrial, mixed-use, retail, and education work, including Innovo Property Group’s 2505 Bruckner Boulevard, a multistory distribution center in the Bronx and The Borden Complex, multistory mixed-use film studio and distribution center in Queens; developed Belmont Arena Complex zoning and design guidelines in addition to leading the design team for Value Retail’s Belmont Park Village and the Belmont Park Parking Garage; and new schools for Zeta Charter School, Uncommon Schools, KIPP New Jersey, and Great Oaks Legacy Charter School. Earlier in his career, he contributed to international school projects in Barcelona, Cairo, Rio de Janeiro, and Singapore.
